The dermatology service at the Institute provides expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with benign and malignant disorders of the skin, mouth, hair, and nails, as well as assessment of patients with allergic skin disorders. Skin scrapings, intradermal skin testing, skin biopsies, cytological smears, fungal cultures, as well as, other specialized diagnostic tests are performed.

Dr. Lewis received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Florida. After spending three years in private practice in Kissimmee and Gainesville, Florida, and Sydney, Australia, Dr. Lewis completed a one year internship, followed by a two year residency in dermatology at Louisiana State University. She has published numerous book chapters and articles and has lectured extensively across the United States, Europe, and Australia.
